Amber Murphy, assistant director for communication access, will present on different modalities to aid in communication (such as live transcription, closed captioning, ASL interpreters, and other accommodations) as well as Deaf cultural practices and norms to consider in any setting. Light refreshments provided to in-person attendees.

Emergency nurse Valérie Gruhn, who has worked with Médecins sans frontières (MSF)/Doctors Without Borders in conflict zones and epidemics, will speak about the value of knowing French for careers in global public health. While the event is open to all campus affiliates, please note it will be held in French.
